WebProfiler


Introduction


The Profiler tool allows you to create forms on your Web site to obtain customer feedback, contact information, and anything else you would like to ask your customers. The Profiler Manager records and stores the results from the forms you build. To fully utilize the Profiler tool, you must first build your forms within the WebWizard™ editor.



Creating a Form


  1. Log into WebWizard. Select the WebProfiler icon and the WebProfiler Editor will be displayed in the Left Step.

  1. Select Add WebProfiler Form.
  2. A prompt asking you to name your form will appear. Name your form and click OK.
  3. Two Form tags will appear on the page you are working from. These tags will not appear on your actual site but simply let you know where the form begins and ends.

WebProfiler Options in the WebWizard Editor


Add/Edit Text Field
Use text fields to create a single line text box for questions that require a short answer.

  1. Select Add/Edit Text field from the WebProfiler menu. The WebProfiler Text Box Editor will appear.
  2. Fill out the text box options. The options in this window are:
    • Name - The name of the field that you are creating, as in "birthday" or "horoscope sign." You must name the elements of your questions in order to retrieve information about them in the Profiler.
    • Default Text - Anything typed in this box will appear inside the box on your form. You may leave this box empty.
    • Width - This controls the visible number of characters that may be placed within the text box. You may also leave this box empty.
    • Max Size - This determines the maximum number of characters that may be entered in the box.
  3. Left click inside the Form Tabs on the page where you want the text box to be placed.
  4. Click Update. The created text box will appear within the form tags in your WebWizard Editor.

Assigning Special Form Functions and Actions


Form Functions


To assign functions to a form:


  1. Select Edit Web Profiler Form from the WebProfiler Editor. The WebProfiler Form Editor window will appear.

  2. Select the form that you want to edit from the Form to Change drop-down menu.
  3. You can rename the form by entering a new name in the Name field.
  4. Select the options that you want to apply to your form.
    • Submits to E-mail - When this box is checked, the form will submit to your e-mail when users complete it. The e-mail address used is the Visual WebTools address you entered when you registered.
    • Set Recipients - Provides options for who you would like your Form results e-mailed to. You can add as many recipient addresses as you would like and then click update or you can choose the Default E-mail Address option which is the e-mail address you entered when you registered with Visual WebTools. Finish by clicking Update.

    • Success Page - This is the page that will appear to your users after completing the form. Choose your success page by clicking Select and choosing the desired file.
    • Select Required Elements - A required element is one that must be filled in for the form to be properly submitted. Determine which questions on your form will be required by selecting them from the drop-down menu. The questions that you select as required elements will be displayed in the Currently Required box. Selecting Clear Required will clear the Currently Required box.
  5. Click Update. The functions will be applied to your form.

Form Actions

  1. Select Add/Edit Form Action from the WebProfiler menu in the WebWizard Editor. The WebProfiler Form Editor window will appear.
  2. Select the form you want to change from the Form to Change drop-down menu.
    • If you wish to automatically add the form user to a channel upon form submittal:
    • Select the channel you want to apply to the form from the forms drop-down menu and click the checkbox.
    • If you want to apply an auto-response message to the form:
    • Select the desired auto-response from the AutoResponder drop-down menu and click the checkbox.
  3. Click Update. The actions will be applied to your form.

WebProfiler Manager


You can access the WebProfiler Manager by selecting WebProfiler Tool icon from the V4.1 Tools Manager Bar Located at the top of the screen.




Set Recipients Window


Look Up Forms
This option allows you to search for all forms, search for a specific form name or use a designated time frame.


  1. After selecting Look up Forms from the WebProfiler Manager, the Look Up Profiler Forms window will appear.
  2. Select whether you want to search for your form by name and/or by a date range. To leave the search open-ended, you can leave the date fields empty.

The checkbox labeled Exclude Viewed will not display the forms you have already viewed. A form that is considered already viewed is one that has been displayed on the screen.


Click Search.


The Search Results screen will appear.

You can conduct multiple searches from this page.
