WebProfiler

Introduction

The Profiler tool allows you to create forms on your Web site to obtain customer feedback, contact information, and anything else you would like to ask your customers. The Profiler Manager records and stores the results from the forms you build. To fully utilize the Profiler tool, you must first build your forms within the WebWizard™ editor.

Creating a Form

  1. Log into WebWizard. Select the WebProfiler icon and the WebProfiler Editor will be displayed in the Left Step

  1. Select Add WebProfiler Form.

  2. A prompt asking you to name your form will appear. Name your form and click OK.

  3. Two Form tags will appear on the page you are working from. These tags will not appear on your actual site but simply let you know where the form begins and ends.

Add/Edit Text Field
Use text fields to create a single line text box for questions that require a short answer.

  1. Select Add/Edit Text field from the WebProfiler menu. The WebProfiler Text Box Editor will appear.

  2. Fill out the text box options. The options in this window are:

  1. Left click inside the Form Tabs on the page where you want the text box to be placed.

  2. Click Update. The created text box will appear within the form tags in your WebWizard Editor.

Add/Edit Radio Button Set
Use radio buttons to create a round button that will be filled in when selected. Radio buttons are often used in making a single selection out of a list of answers.

  1. Select Add/Edit Radio Button Set from the WebProfiler menu. The WebProfiler Radio Button Editor window will appear.

  1. In the Name text box, enter a name for the radio button set.

  2. In the bottom text box, enter a name for the value of the radio button choice. Your site viewers will not see this name; it is for your benefit when tracking in the WebProfiler Manager.

  3. Click Add Element to add more radio button options. Name each new element.

  4. Left click inside the Form Tabs on the page where you want the Radio Button Set to be placed.
  5. Click Update. The created radio button set will appear within the form tags in your WebWizard Editor.

To remove a radio button option, click the radio button next to option you want to delete and click Remove Element.

Add/Edit Checkbox
Use checkboxes for questions that may have multiple answers.

  1. Select Add/Edit Checkbox. The WebProfiler Checkbox Editor will appear.

  2. Name your checkbox set. This will be of use when using the WebProfiler Manager and QuickCheck.

  3. Left click inside the Form Tabs on the page where you want the check box to be placed.

  4. Click Update. The created checkbox set will appear within the form tags in your WebWizard Editor.

There is also a checkbox labeled Default Value. This determines whether the default status is checked or unchecked. Checking the checkbox will result in a checked default status.

Add/Edit Drop-down List
Use a drop-down list when you want one answer to be selected from a list. To choose from a pre-selected set of answers, see View Question Library.

  1. Select Add/Edit Drop-down list from the WebProfiler menu. The WebProfiler Drop-down List Editor will appear.

  2. Name your drop-down list. This will be the name you refer to when using the WebProfiler Manager and QuickCheck.

  3. Create your drop-down list by typing the first entry into the empty text box below the naming field.

  4. Add additional selections by clicking the Add Element link and typing in the text box that appears.

  5. Left click inside the Form Tabs on the page where you want the Drop Down List to be placed.

  6. Click Update. The drop-down list will appear within the form tags in your WebWizard editor.

Remove any option you have created by clicking on it and selecting the Remove Element link.

Add/Edit Text Area
Use a text area to create a text field with more than one line. This is typically used for answers requiring several lines of text.
  1. Select Add/Edit Text Area from the WebProfiler menu. The WebProfiler Text Area Editor window will appear.
  2. Fill in the text box options in the window. The options in this window are:
  1. Left click inside the Form Tabs on the page where you want the Text Area to be placed.

  2. Click Update. The created text area will appear within the form tags in your WebWizard Editor.

Add Submit Button and Add Reset Button
After you have created your form, you need to add submit and reset buttons to your page. The submit button will send the form from the subscriber to you and the reset button will clear the form so that the user may start over.

To add a Submit button to your page:

  1. Place your cursor at the bottom of your form, within the form tabs.

  2. Click on the WebProfiler icon and select Add Submit Button.

  3. A prompt will appear, asking you to name your button. If you want your button to say something other than submit, enter your desired text and click OK. If you like the default word Submit, click OK.

  4. A gray submit button will appear where your cursor was placed.

To add a Reset button to your page:

  1. Place your cursor at the bottom of your form, within the form tabs.

  2. Click on the WebProfiler icon and select Add Reset Button.

  3. A prompt will appear, asking you to name your button. If you want your button to say something other than Reset, enter your desired text and click OK. If you like the default word Reset, click OK.

  4. A gray reset button will appear where your cursor was placed.

To resize or move the buttons:

  1. Click once on the button and either drag it to the location you want it, or drag the border to resize it.

Add WebContacts Form
This option allows you to create a contact form that will be used in conjunction with the WebContacts and WebChannels tools.

  1. Select Add WebContacts Fields. The WebProfiler Channels Editor window will appear.

  2. Check each option that you would like included on your form.

  3. Left click inside the Form Tabs on the page where you want the WebContacts Fields to be placed.

  4. Click Update. The WebContacts fields will be added to your form. More on WebContacts

View Form Library and View Question Library

  1. Select the WebProfiler icon.

  2. After selecting the View Form Library option, the Insert a Pre-made Form window will appear.

  3. Select a form from the drop-down list to view its questions.

  4. Left click inside the Form Tabs on the page where you want the Form to be placed.

  5. Select a form to use and click Insert. The form will be added to your page in the WebWizard Editor.

  2. Select a question from the drop-down list to view its questions.

  3. Left click inside the Form Tabs on the page where you want the Form to be placed.

  4. Select a question to use and click Insert. The question will be added to your page in the WebWizard Editor.
Quick Check
This option allows you find out the name/value of any selected field that may not have been labeled with information on your form.
  1. Select the form element that you want checked.

  2. Select Quick Check from the WebProfiler menu.

  3. A prompt with the element's information will appear. The Name is the title you have assigned that form element, and the Value is any default text you have placed within that element.

Form Functions

To assign functions to a form:

  1. Select Edit Web Profiler Form from the WebProfiler Editor. The WebProfiler Form Editor window will appear.

  1. Select the form that you want to edit from the Form to Change drop-down menu.

  2. You can rename the form by entering a new name in the Name field.

  3. Select the options that you want to apply to your form.

 

Set Recipients Window

  1.  Click Update. The functions will be applied to your form.

Form Actions

  1. Select Add/Edit Form Action from the WebProfiler menu in the WebWizard Editor. The WebProfiler Form Editor window will appear.

  2. Select the form you want to change from the Form to Change drop-down menu.

  1. Click Update. The actions will be applied to your form.

You can access the WebProfiler Manager by selecting WebProfiler Tool icon from the V4.1 Tools Manager Bar Located at the top of the screen.

Look Up Forms
This option allows you to search for all forms, search for a specific form name or use a designated time frame.

  1. After selecting Look up Forms from the WebProfiler Manager, the Look Up Profiler Forms window will appear.

  2. Select whether you want to search for your form by name and/or by a date range. To leave the search open-ended, you can leave the date fields empty.

The checkbox labeled Exclude Viewed will not display the forms you have already viewed. A form that is considered already viewed is one that has been displayed on the screen.

  1. Click Search.

  2. The Search Results screen will appear.

You can conduct multiple searches from this page.
